Eco Alkalines Recycle Your Batteries

Recycle Your Batteries

Eco Alkalines™ batteries strive to be an environmentally conscious disposable alkaline battery. While our batteries contain no toxic heavy metals such as Cadmium, Lead or Mercury, and none of the toxic substances listed in Canadian Environmental Protection Act (1999), Schedule 1, and are therefore safe to enter the household waste stream, we recommend recycling your spent alkaline batteries when and where possible.

Send your Eco Alkalines™ batteries back to us

We are working with a company called RMC (Raw Materials Company Inc.) in Ontario to ensure Eco Alkalines™ batteries are recycled appropriately.

Raw Materials Company logoRMC has managed to increase Ontario's Battery Collections and Recycling Rate to the highest rate in North America. All recycled materials are reused in industry, preventing the need for further mining and depletion of our finite natural resources. This creates jobs at RMC and employment opportunities with the companies that consume our materials. Raw Materials Company is committed to providing the world with the most efficient and sustainable battery recycling solution for consumer batteries. To see their process in detail, click here.

Please note the approximate cost of postage to send an average AA 4-pack to our location is $11. This example includes the cost of a #0 Poly Bubble Mailer and postage for mailing within Ontario, Canada.

If sending larger quantities, please send batteries packed in small quantities within sealed plastic bags (for example, zip-lock style baggies, small grocery bags that are tied off). This will restrain battery contact and prevent leakage while in transit.
